Hm.  There may be something to this comics business after all.  Have been mucking about with an idea I wanted to put in narrative form.  Another comic project that I had sort of on the go has somewhat ground to a halt because I was trying to maintain a certain standard and each panel was taking days or even weeks.  Well, family commitments have now reached a point where that kind of working method is no longer viable.  Present working conditions do not really allow for my customary approach, but I thought I would make an effort to go with the flow, by lobbing all decent standards out the window and just having a laugh.  Must admit to being kind of amused with the initial results, and somewhat tempted, against all better judgement, to take it further..

Awww this was awesome. It made me both giggle and go awww at the same time.

Also, I can relate to not having qualifications. These days I just think 'fuck it,' but it took me a long time to get to that point.

Take it further! :D

Thanks sooo much! This was somewhat of a departure and I was a bit unsure of it. So, you don't have the official certificates? Just goes to prove how UNnecessary they are!!! Your work is fantastic!!! I'm suddenly reminded of the cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, who never had formal training, and said that very late in his career he applied to an art college anonymously just to see if he could get a place - which he did but never took it up.

Sorry I have been far from LJ lately! I have some catching up to do!

The only degree I have is my degree in media studies. Heh.

I did actually apply to the university Art Academy (the good one in Western Australia) and I did actually get in, but I dropped out because of mental health issues and never went back. So I know I'm at least good enough to qualify for a decent degree.

I just don't want one. Is that bad? *blush*

Nooo!!! That's EXCELLENT! Having just come through the system, I'm left frankly appalled at what a lot of Emperor's New Clothes the art college system is. I can't believe I toddled in 2 yrs ago actually expecting someone to teach me how to draw better... I'd stop short of calling it a scam only because some of the staff were actually quite kind, well-meaning folk who were quite genuine in their delusion that talking constantly about themselves and occasionally chucking around a few off-the-cuff judgements on other people's work was actually worth the price of admission. I feel a need to stand outside the place, telling people not to fall for it. Don't let them get a hold of you again! You are wonderful and exquisite, just the way you are.
